What would you say to the people who donated to the "Help Panthers Fly" about your experience? How did their generosity impact your overall experience?
I am extremely grateful to those who donated to the "Help Panthers Fly" cause and cannot express how thankful I was to receive such a considerate donation. While this experience was life-changing, studying abroad is definitely not cheap and this cause had helped out immensely towards my trip.
How did study abroad impact your overall Adelphi experience?
Studying abroad has made my Adelphi experience unforgettable. As a commuter, I’ve always been sort of a “home baby” and dependent on my parents. This experience gave me the opportunity to venture out and be on my own while building new relationships. I’ve learned to become quite independent and I truly feel like I can take on anything. I encourage all those who have the ability to study abroad to do so because it really is a once in a life time opportunity that you will never forget.
How will you use skills you learned from your study abroad experience in the future?
As a senior who is about to graduate and embark on my next journey to medical school, I can truly say that I have learned more life skills in my one semester abroad than I have in my whole college career. Living in a new country with a language barrier can be quite a challenge and it really puts you to the test of how to become flexible and be able to adapt quickly, all great life lessons. Money management was also a key factor along with balancing my travel and social life with the responsibilities of living away and being a student, all skills of which I will take with me into all my future journeys.
Finish the sentence, "Study abroad because…"
Study abroad because it is life-changing and you will NOT regret it! After college, life becomes more stressful and responsibilities begin to pile up and you never know when you’ll get the chance to do something so fulfilling. These years are to make the most memories and to challenge yourself in every which way possible. Studying abroad has been by far the best experience of my life and I am so grateful that I was able to appreciate such an amazing opportunity.
Thank you for your generosity!
