Send five students to an archaeological dig in Alaska
The Tanana Valley in Alaska is 3,265 miles from Garden City, but the archaeology students from Adelphi who will travel there this summer will go even further. Their journey will take them back 14,000 years in time, to the age of the wooly mammoth, to find and study artifacts left by the first people to cross into North America.
Your contribution will help defray the travel and expenses so five worthy Panthers can embark on the trip of a lifetime. Undergraduate and graduate students will build important skills using state-of-the-art field-based research technologies and obtain hands-on experience in the fundamentals of archaeological survey, excavation, stratigraphic profiling and site mapping.
