The Center for Student Involvement founded Panther Day of Service in March 2016. The program offers the Adelphi family the chance to give back to the communities that surround the university. Faculty, staff, students and alumni are able to connect on a different level outside of the classroom and office, working on projects together to better the lives of others.
Since then, the program has seen tremendous success, increasing services to organizations by 28%. This year 93 students completed 279 hours of community service. Projects ranged from playing BINGO with senior citizens to gardening at local elementary schools.
You can contribute to the success of Panther Day of Service with your gift:
$2 can purchase garden gloves for projects at HorseAblitiy and Garden Vines.
$10 can buy thank you cards to send to troops.
$50 provides birthday presents for the single mothers at Momma's House to give to their children, as they cannot afford to buy gifts themselves.
$150 covers the cost of materials for activities and crafts for the senior centers.
$200 can provide transportation to a project for 40 students.
Thank you for enabling Panthers to transform even more lives through community service projects!
