Give theatre, music and dance students the opportunity to work with industry professionals.
Interacting with working professionals is a valuable, high impact experience for students - particularly those in the arts. Knowing current practices and trends, as well as getting advice and training from successful colleagues, is critical to their long-term success.
We are proud to present two opportunities to bring exceptional artists to Adelphi:
Master Classes with Broadway Professionals
In the past few years, the Adelphi Performing Arts Center has welcomed a diverse selection of artists from Broadway to work with our students. Past guests include Tony winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), Oscar nominee Laura Linney (Ozark, The Big C), Tony nominee Norm Lewis (The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, Les Misérables), Tony winning lighting designer Natasha Katz (An American In Paris, Once), Will Roland (Dear Evan Hansen, Be More Chill) and more. This invaluable experience allows our music and theatre students to connect with working professionals and discuss their craft and career.
For every $750 raised, the University will match and this will allow for an additional guest artist to come to campus for a workshop with our students.
Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company Residency
This fall, Adelphi University will be hosting the Taylor 2 Dance Company for a three week residency and the full Paul Taylor Dance Company for a performance. This residency will give our Department of Dance students intensive time to learn from these professional dancers about their career, dance technique and choreography from the Paul Taylor repertoire. Gifts to the dance department will help cover the costs of transportation, lodging and other expenses related to this residency to ensure success and give the students as much time with the company as possible.
Support both initiatives with a gift to the Performing Arts Fund or direct your gift to a specific project on the donation form.
Thank you for giving performing arts students the chance of a lifetime!
